Chubb now has an opportunity for a Infrastructure Architect in Ashford (Middlesex). The main goal of this role is to lead architecture, design, and design governance for Chubb Fire & Security global infrastructure.  Architecture supports a 2,3bn business, spanning multiple continents, across 18 different countries. Technologies include Microsoft Azure Cloud, Oracle OCI, several Equinix managed data-centres, NTT managed SD-WAN, and various firewall and access technologies.

Chubb has recently separated from its previous parent company, who provided many core IT services and functions for Chubb countries directly; following the acquisition of Chubb by the APi Group, these functions have been/are being stood up from scratch for Chubb to operate standalone. This role represents a rare opportunity to join a new IT organisation as it establishes new core IT infrastructure and associated services, and mobilises a multi-year journey to bring digital transformation to a 200-year-old global business. 

Responsibilities:

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the following activities and functions:

• Analyse existing systems to ensure they are Secure, Robust & Efficient.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop remediation plans in collaboration with Infrastructure team.
• Understand Infra/Network Landscape & work to maintain suitability and currency of software, hardware, and network.
• Develop roadmap for evolution of core Network and Infrastructure landscape.
• Recommend improvements or alternative technologies to better meet business needs, and support business cases for, and implementation of, said improvements.
• Consult with business stakeholders to define innovative solutions for new projects and initiatives.
• Design, review and integrate new systems

Essential Experience:

• Prior experience holding an Infrastructure Architect position, or working at snr level within an Infrastructure Architecture team at a comparably scaled organization
• Familiarity and demonstrable experience working with Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Familiarity with networking technologies, including FW and zoning architectures and approaches, and deploying/optimizing SD-WAN
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different time zones and working practices

Desirable Experience:

Industry architectural certification, e.g. TOGAF, ITIL v3
