Role Summary:
Our Ottawa branch is currently recruiting a Level 3 Security Technician (Service). The main job duties and responsibilities of this role are to carry out inspections and service functions on intrusion alarm systems, access control and camera systems. Overtime, On-call rotation and shift premium work as needed.
Job Description
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers to identify the source of the problem of their alarm system.
- Independently perform high quality service, proper maintenance and make recommendations for improvement to the system, if needed.
- Conduct testing on alarm systems to ensure that the service provided was successful.
- Inform customers on how to operate and use their alarm system in a takeover situation. In addition, educate the customers on basic knowledge of alarm system utilization.
- Complete ULC Inspections for both Fire and Intrusion systems
- Inspection, service and programming of CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion systems.
- Troubleshoot alarm panels, CCTV systems, and Card Access systems.
- Stay up to date on current alarm technology.
- Networking and programing as required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education/certification/diploma preferably in Electronic Technician Certificate or Computer Networking Courses.
- 5+ years of experience in security access control and CCTV installation and service.
- Experience and technical knowledge of security products and standards/codes.
- Strong knowledge of PC-based applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc)
- Must have a valid Provincial Driver’s License.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for a Federal Security Clearance (Reliability/Secret).
