Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team at Chromalloy Nevada. If you are passionate about aerospace and industrial gas turbine systems and have expertise in CNC machining and EDM, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Join us and play a crucial role in technical support, process/product development, and optimization for new product introduction (NPI) and repair projects.

  • Develop fixturing, tooling, and CNC programs for turbine component machining (milling, grinding, and EDM).
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to ensure high-quality production output.
  • Utilize lean tools and methodologies to optimize production processes and product design, driving measurable business improvements.
  • Lead project teams in the development of new designs, repairs, and processes.
  • Work closely with the Chromalloy Engineering team to support new part and repair development, ensuring production readiness and implementing innovative technologies.
  • Make critical technical decisions and provide guidance to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Take ownership of technical aspects throughout the manufacturing stages.

Qualifications

If you have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace) and at least 5 years of experience in the Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine mechanical design discipline, joining Chromalloy is a great career move! In addition to your education & experience, as a team player you will also have the following skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of gas turbine component manufacturing processes, including airfoil manufacturing and inspections.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and CAM programming, specifically Siemens NX software.
  • Hands-on experience with Multi-Axis Grinding, Milling, EDM Drilling, and/or EDM Die Sink machining using equipment from leading manufacturers like Makino, Sodick, Belmont, Blohm, or Okuma.
  • Strong understanding of G/M Code for CNC machining and its application.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various measuring techniques, such as CMM, white-light/laser scanning, and gages, used for design development.
  • Thoughtful and effective communications skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
