Job Description

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates to join our Engineering organization as Engineering Technicians with opportunity for growth.

In our additive manufacturing focus area, we are looking to build a team of technicians that will be innovating in the areas of polymers, ceramics, and metal 3D printing as well as functional printing, rapid prototyping, free-form fabrication, and rapid prototyping techniques.

  • Work directly with Engineers and Staff to Support the processing of print requests, production of printed parts, inventories of print materials, and the maintenance of associated 3D printers.
  • Develop and maintain cross-discipline specialties and significant depth of knowledge.
  • Prep, program, operate, and maintain additive manufacturing, CNC's, measurement, post-processing, and test equipment to output the tool, part, and/or component to the exact specifications of project requirements and/or staff needs.
  • Process 3D model print requests including reviewing files, validate printability, notification of exceptions, and the establishment and communication of printing schedules.
  • Develop basic CAD model creation skills to fulfill design requests and modification to create 3D printed parts.
  • Utilize and effectively program CAD tools (or other skills) to create prototype tools required for project completion
  • CAD model review, processing, and manipulation in order to efficiently fill print trays running multiple projects and parts per print job.
  • Manage print queue and material changes in anticipation of requests and print schedule
  • Inspect 3D printer parts for print quality and print error.
  • Train users as needed to operate 3D printers and/or assist those in need of modificaion of printer properties.
  • Manage the inventory levels of all 3D printer materials, and note when materials need to be replenished to avoid down time of 3D printers.
  • Track printer usage of all print jobs and prepare utilization summaries for administrative staff.
  • Achieve and strive for highest quality standards in work.
  • Achieve established work-area cleanliness standards and maintain a high-degree of organization in work area(s); follow and support 5S program efforts.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and adhere to safety programs, processes, and procedures set forth for the specific process and for company safety programs in general.

Qualifications

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of and/or experience with any CAD platform (Siemens NX, Solidworks, etc.) and ability to read CAD drawings or assemblies.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of and experience with 3D printers, preferably related to (inputs, outputs, custom M-codes, ladder logic, etc.)
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of and experience with electrical controls, preferably related to modern machine tools (inputs, outputs, custom M-codes, ladder logic, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python, C++, or VBA coding languages

Additionally:

  • Proficient use of measurement tools
  • Experience with and general knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations.
  • Exhibit and maintain positive, solutions-oriented attitude toward work and co-workers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under stress, despite numerous interruptions.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in assigned tasks on a consistent basis.

Education:

  • 2 year degree or its equivalent
  • Technical degree in relevant area of study is considered favorable

Salary: $60,800 - $91,200 / year
