Chromalloy is looking for a Power Plant Engineer to be an integral part of the Engineering department at the San Diego Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for the repair and overhaul of gas turbine engine programs to ensure final deliverable is a quality product and meets contractual obligations. 

Chromalloy has expanded from a gas turbine parts repair business into an OEM supplier of production parts and advanced repairs and services for gas turbines used in aviation and power applications. Chromalloy serves the airline, military, marine and energy segments with a broad range of services at locations around the globe.

Chromalloy San Diego has won several major contracts and is growing capacity and leveraging capabilities to conduct (minimally) 15 Engine Overhauls in 2022. 

The essential functions of this position are:

• Oversee test cell operations and support by maintaining all test cell system.
• Support engine performance tests by developing engineering methods and procedures to optimize the engine performance testing.
• Develop, author and maintain internal data cards / procedures on job specific work instructions and daily checks.
• Support and conduct performance data evaluations and trend analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, etc. with 10 years experience directly related to turbine engine/aircraft overhaul and aviation maintenance engineering.
• Knowledge of advanced gas turbine engine principles, primarily focused on exceptional test cell experience, vibration and failure analysis, and general engine overhaul and repair procedures.
