Job Description

The San Diego team is looking for a Second Shift Production Supervisor. 

The individual will create and implement operational strategies, execute on Lean Manufacturing goals and objectives, ensure manufacturing output meets delivery dates and effectively schedule manpower and resources by engaging in two-way communication with leadership, peers, and employees.

The Production Supervisor will be directly involved in meeting all: EH&S, Customer, Quality, and Financial goals within the site. Competencies that are critical for success in this role are: Customer Focus, Adaptability, Strategic Thinking, and Communication. The individual must embrace the Lean Manufacturing/CPEx and thrive in a highly visible, dynamic setting.

The Essential Functions of this Position are: 

  • Provide direction to the operations team setting for short and long term operational objectives.
  • Create a world-class Safety and Quality by supporting training initiatives, conducting training sessions and responding to any concerns immediately.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing/CPEx tools to support and improve production performance and reduce overall operating cost .
  • Effectively communicate cross functional requirements in a timely manner to ensure efficient process flow.
  • Work proactively to engage and motivate your team.  Address issues and  ensure employees are held accountable while maintaining a respectful relationship.
  • Perform administrative duties timely; timekeeping, managing OT, employee time away from work. etc.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizen required (due to Government contract requirements)
  • 1-2 years experience in Operations, Quality or Manufacturing Engineering Support within a manufacturing and/or overhaul & repair facility (preferred).
  • Experience in Process Engineering, Quality Engineering or Operations Management within an Aerospace manufacturing facility DAT FAR145 Repair Station environment (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles, Lean Manufacturing, QCPC & Six-Sigma is strongly preferred along with a proven track record of cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments (preferred)
