Job Description

Position Reports To:                    Head of Purchasing UK

Location:                                        Derbyshire or Cheshire, UK (Regular travel will be required between both sites)

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This role is responsible for providing day to day purchasing support across two sites and providing support to the Buyers on site in the procurement of materials and products including raw materials, equipment, supplies and services of a general nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures.

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·     Collate all internal requisitions for purchase and manage RFQ process where required and raise purchase orders with preferred and approved suppliers

·     Manage supplier deliveries and expedite purchase orders on a daily basis

·     Update and control, where required, internal consignment stocks with Suppliers

·     Collate and present monthly vendor KPI’s and update tracking and recording of cost saving data

·     Take ownership of assigned cost reduction projects and drive savings

·     Manage blanket and open purchase orders

·     Update and manage company contract and agreement log

·     Act as a point of communication within the business to provide effective and pro-active procurement support

·     Collate spend data and other corporate reporting as required

·     Resolve purchase invoice queries in a timely manner

·     General filing and administrative support duties

·     Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health and safety standards

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Essential

·     Have a methodical approach, good listening skills and a high level of attention to detail

·     Good levels of IT skills across different platforms

·     Have strong interpersonal and good communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels

·     Must be able to work as part of a team, but also be able to work using own initiative whilst being able to work under pressure

·     Open to and offer new ideas and ways of working. Represent procurement dept in a professional manner

·     Full UK Driving License

 

Desirable

·       Proficient use of Excel, pivot tables, look ups etc

·       Experience of working in aerospace or a similar exacting engineering environment

·       Experience of EPICOR or similar MRP system preferred

·       CIPS

Qualifications

CIPS ( Desireable) 

Advanced Excel User ( preferred) 

Experience of Epicor or other MRP ( Desireable)
