Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:   

Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.   

  • Help manage over 30 active suppliers through evaluating that were getting the best product, price and on time deliveries.  

  • Communicate with vendors.  

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures. 

  • Knowledge of basic software programs (Word and Excel) 

  • Strong written 2nd verbal communication skills  

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills 

  • Works well with others. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

  • Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as service, cost, delivery and quality of product. 

  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous, professional, and helpful)  

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Must be flexible; able to meet changing priorities and demands and have the ability to work under pressure.  

  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office Suite and Web-based applications. 

  • Strong work ethic, with focus on attendance and punctuality. 

  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality.  

  • Ensure delivery of timely, relevant and efficient information as required. 

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:   

 Education / Experience: 

High school diploma or equivalent.  

  •  Basic reading, writing, and knowledge of software programs. 

  • Must be able to travel to Dallas 

  • Must have a Business Management, Accounting or Materials logistics 

  • Must be a high school graduate or have a GED.  

  • At least one year experience with purchasing.
