Job Description

Process/quality control for production processes of chemical stripping/cleaning, precious metal plating, coating and final inspection/certification. Provide metallography and metallurgical analysis for repair development. Quality Assurance responsibility for certificate of conformance.

Industrial Electrical Technician Duties:

·         Sample preparation including cutting/mounting/polishing

·         Coating thickness measurement on metallograph

·         Coating microstructure analysis

·         Visual inspection audits for outgoing OEM parts

·         Final certification of coated hardware

·         Traveler buy-offs and Q.C. audit function

·         Titrations of various solutions

·         Metallographic analysis of braze and weld joints (repair development)

·         Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy

·         Coating cycle parameter for all types of coating

·         Analysis control of precious metal plating tanks and acid stripping tanks

·         Utilization spreadsheet and word processing programs

·         Review of customer requirements in specifications or drawings

·         Maintain production standards/quality

·         General department housekeeping

·         Regular attendance and punctuality

·         Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards

·         Ensures compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements

 

Marginal duties and responsibilities (performed occasionally or at irregular intervals) for this position are:

·         Macro photography

·         Micro photography on metallograph(s)

·         Generation of metallurgical reports

·         Generation of process specifications

·         Process training in precious metal plating

·         Process parametric development

·         Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Must be local, Phoenix, AZ

  • Ability to read, interpret specifications and blueprints

  • Ability to read, interpret and understand work in-process documents

  • Basic computer skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability

  • Lean skills continually drives process improvements

Additional Information

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems (480/277 vac, 3 phase)

  • Four years of work experience providing knowledge of chemistry, math and metallography or equivalent education

  • AA and SEM/EDS background preferred
