Director of Operations

  • Full-time

Company Description

Chromalloy provides repair services for turbine engine components.  Chromalloy's entry into the gas turbine business occurred in the 1950's when a diffusion coating was developed to provide oxidation protection for nozzle guide vanes in the first generation of commercial jet engines. Since then, Chromalloy has grown at a steady rate and today offers specialized compressor and turbine repair and coating services in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Chromalloy developed the first commercially viable aluminide coatings for the protection of cobalt and nickel based alloys and stainless steels in the early 1960's. These coatings and their derivatives are still used extensively by manufacturers of gas turbine engine components. As many of the turbine components first protected with Chromalloy coatings returned from service, it became apparent their condition was such that they could be reused after suitable repair. This led to the development of strip and re-coat procedures for diffusion coatings, and to the development of advanced technology to perform metallurgical and mechanical repairs which have served as the base for Chromalloy's growth in the gas turbine engine field.

Chromalloy has directed substantial resources toward research and development of ceramic coatings (thermal barrier), vacuum plasma coatings, advanced laser drilling and welding, diffused precious metal/aluminide coatings and other innovative processes designed to allow gas turbine engine components to operate more reliably and efficiently at higher operating temperatures and under severe environmental conditions.

The vitality of Chromalloy comes from its people. The company offers an environment for employees to achieve personal goals for success on the basis of their ability to generate results compatible with the international objectives of the company. This philosophy combined with strong support by the management for focused investment in our future enabled Chromalloy not only to grow, but to successively compete and overtake competitors in the high technology repairs and metallurgical coatings and processing.
