Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:  Measures and allocates costs of products and services provided by the company. Is accountable for the ongoing analysis of product costs, inventory forecasts & aging analysis, target costing projects and margin analysis. Must construct and monitor cost effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management. Strong understanding of Accounting Principles & Internal Controls

  • Creating and reviewing the controls needed for cost data accumulation and Inventory & Cost of Sales reporting systems.
  • Reporting on margins by product, Customer & SBU
  • Instrumental member of the cost accounting system development & ERP implementation teams
  • Anticipating and reporting on monthly forecast vs actual variances and their root causes.
  • Providing support to the annual operating budget process
  • Analyzing capital budgeting requests
  • Tracking costs associated with New Product Development Initiatives
  • Accumulating and applying overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors’ in Accounting
  • 5-7 yrs. of Accounting related experience
  • Experience in manufacturing & Product Cost Analysis preferred
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and communicate in English
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles
  • Very strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Excellent computer application skills
  • Good math skills.
