Job Description

Chromalloy Georgia is in search of an experienced Value Stream Manager (VSM) for our facility in Newnan, GA. 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The value stream manager is responsible for the day to day operations of all product cells supporting the commercial repair business.  The VSM is accountable for all business performance metrics on Safety, Quality, Delivery, TAT, and Cost Productivity using Lean / CI / 5s tools to positively impact and drive the performance of the cells.  They are responsible for streamlining production processes, driving cost reduction measures, driving Cost of poor quality (CoPQ) reduction, meeting deadlines and HR related functions around employee management. The value stream leader works with front line leaders to develop methods to most effectively utilize personnel and resources in the best possible ways. They determine whether overtime is needed for certain projects and whether additional equipment is necessary.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible and accountable for all business performance metrics on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Productivity using Lean / CI / 5s tools to positively impact and drive the performance of the cell(s)   
  • Responsible for mentoring and coaching of production personnel – front line leaders, planners, cell leads
  • Responsible for working with front line leaders on planning /scheduling multi shift resource management (people, machines, material)
  • Responsible for leading and implementing Lean / CI / 5s.  Driving continuous flow environment through 6 sigma levels of quality and process improvement.
  • Responsible for communication flow down, leading team in group environment, facilitating shift start up priority meetings with front line leaders
  • Responsible for all aspects of performance management.  Including but not limited to:
  • Employee time management and payroll for all team members.
  • Addressing employee achievement and discipline issues when needed.
  • Assuring manpower coverage to meet production requirements through cross training plans to cover PTO gaps on the team
  • Responsible for all employee performance reviews on time with appropriate feedback.
  • Responsible for employee engagement, coaching and training team

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Education

  • Technical or Bachelor's degree highly preferred 

Experience

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing background
  • Strong Planning /scheduling skills required; including but not limited to multi shift resource management (people, machines, material)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. Process & product knowledge preferred.
  • Strong background in leading and implementing Lean / CI / 5s.  Must have work experience leading in continuous flow environment driving 6 sigma levels of quality and process improvement.
  • Must have experience in a leadership role
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Detail orientated with communication, intergroup interactions, and orientation skills that display leadership/EI/coaching and training abilities.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
