The purpose of the Visual Arts Team is to support the mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley by being responsible for creating video content for all areas of our church. The NextGen Filmmaker is responsible for collaborating with the Visual Arts staff to produce video and motion graphic content for Kids and Students at CCV.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions
- Participates in the creative process, assisting the NextGen Video Team Lead and Visual Arts Director in conceptual discussions, layouts, scripts, and storyboards.
- Uses biblical understanding and ministry discernment to influence the development and execution of content, helping shape how messages are communicated through video, storytelling, and the overall service experience.
- Collaborates with NextGen ministry partners in the ideation and development process to create content that supports the ministry’s message and goals.
- Reviews and provides input on scripts, slides, stories, and creative concepts, communicating recommended changes to help ensure content is clear, age-appropriate, and aligned with the intended ministry direction.
- Operates cameras, lighting, sound, and standard grip responsibilities on field and studio projects.
- Works directly with kids, students, volunteers, and on-screen talent, helping them feel comfortable and confident while coaching them through the production process.
- Edits video and/or motion graphic content for various ministries.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in film or media-related field; or at least 2 years of experience in video production.
- Proficient in the following programs:
- Adobe Premiere Pro as a primary non-linear editing platform.
- Adobe After Effects as a motion-graphic and visual effects platform.
- Adobe Photoshop as it pertains to the integration with motion graphics and video production.
- Proficient in the basic operation of video cameras, specifically the Sony camera platform, as well as field and studio lighting.
- Basic knowledge of audio production as it pertains to the integration with video and motion graphics production.
- Ability to take a project from beginning to end, i.e.; concept to production - to edit - to final.
- You must be organized, a creative thinker, and highly productive, working in a fast-paced environment.
