The purpose of the Campus Worship Pastor is to support the mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) by being responsible for all matters dealing with the weekend worship services at their campus.  The purpose of the Worship Pastor position is to support the mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) by providing excellence and leadership through the accountability, pastoral support, and oversight of worship environments on their specific campus. This position reports to the Campus Pastor, with additional support from the Area Worship Pastor and Lead Worship Pastor.

Job Description

The purpose of the Campus Worship Pastor is to support the mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) by being responsible for all matters dealing with the weekend worship services at their campus.  The purpose of the Worship Pastor position is to support the mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) by providing excellence and leadership through accountability, pastoral support, and oversight of worship environments on their specific campus. This position reports to the Campus Pastor, with a strong dotted line of support and accountability from the Area and Lead Worship Pastor.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, execute, and maintain a strategy worship culture on the campus.
  • Lead worship at a specific campus for approximately 32 weekends and on campus scheduled by Area Worship Pastor for eight more weekends.
  • Be present on campus in areas of need for approximately 4 additional weekends.
  • Provide pastoral care to the people in your Area of Responsibility as needed.  This includes, but is not limited to, weddings, funerals, baptisms, hospital/hospice calls, and baby dedications.
  • Execute campus pastoral responsibilities as directed by the Campus Pastor and support team to hit goals of emphasis.
  • Provide support in planning services, picking songs, and developing creative elements as requested by the Lead Worship Pastor.
  • Attend Music Team, Creative meetings, and Individual 1:1 meetings with Area Worship Pastor and Lead Worship Pastor as requested.
  • Contribute to series/project-specific creative needs as requested by the Worship Director and/or Area Worship Pastor
  • Serve as a contributor for CCV Music recording projects and content as scheduled
  • Serve as a contributor at sermon series brainstorming meetings as scheduled
  • Schedule contractors and volunteers for weekend services when applicable
  • Lead the worship sets on select weekends in adults (as scheduled)
  • Prepare for the weekend leading (personally)

Schedule

  • Weekly schedule expectations will be:
    • The primary location through the week will be a specific Campus or Area
    • One day a week in person with the Central Music Team
    • Weekend responsibilities on campus for weekends leading and designated weekends to be available. Will work out a rhythm with the Campus Pastor and Lead Worship Pastor.
    • * Availability for weekend scheduling =  44 weekends/year (32 at local campus/8 at other campuses/4 at home campus off stage pastoral presence
    • NOTE:  during Christmas, Easter, recording sessions, etc., the weekly schedule will include additional hours as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Character & Chemistry

  • A passion for reaching the lost
  • Personal integrity in all areas of life
  • Must be – or willing to become – a participating member of CCV
  • Regularly attend worship services with their family
  • Is an active participant in a neighborhood group, and a transformation group and is a regular tither

Competency

  • Interpersonal Skills – relates well to all kinds of people, builds effective relationships, and communicates effectively interpersonally and corporately.
  • Self-Development – committed to improvement, seeks constructive criticism, understands strengths and weaknesses

Education & Experience

  • Experience in ministry is highly desired
  • Experience recruiting, training, and leading music volunteers/contractors
