Position: Senior Photo Editor  

Location: New York, NY

Type: Full-time Depending on Candidate 

Start Date: Immediate

Experience Desired: Senior  2-3 years minimum experience

What we are looking for:

Oth Media Group is looking for a Senior Photo Editor to manage and oversee the post production department. The ideal candidate should have a background in image editing, photo archive management and an understanding of design principles. This role will be responsible for culling, retouching and asset organization for all images delivered after each shoot. You will also oversee the album department and create layout designs. Working closely with other team members to ensure our clients receive beautifully designed albums and managing this process from start to finish.  Depending on the candidate there is a possibility for a full time position.  

 

-You will edit RAW files and work in Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photo Mechanic, and Photo Junction 

-You should have the ability to adapt to our studio’s editing style

-You will collaborate with clients on wedding album designs, fostering those relationships and seeing the album design process from start to finish

-You will communicate with clients regarding design and print orders

-You will handle all in house fine art printing some knowledge of printing and experience using photo printers is a big plus

-You will oversee and manage the wedding album design process from start to finish and work with clients to ensure they receive a beautiful product 

-You will conceptualize and design wedding albums with clients 

-You will review and approve all print orders that come in through our proofing site

 

A deep understanding of:

  • Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign & Photoshop

  • Photo editing software: Lightroom and/or Capture One Pro

  • Working with a large asset library & image organization 

  • Technical knowledge of color profiles and photography

 

It’s also a plus if you know (but not necessary):

  • Fine art printing 

  • Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro

  • Photo editing software: Lightroom and/or Capture One Pro

  • Photo Mechanic

  • Photo Junction 

 

Your experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 2-3+ years minimum related work experience in a high volume, deadline-driven production environment

  • Previous experience retouching and managing an asset archive  

  • A portfolio that showcases your editing skills 

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop

  • Photography and/or Graphic Design background

  • Creativity and willingness to work with a small team to deliver a high quality product to our clients 

  • A desire to learn and grow with the brand and a positive can-do attitude!


 

Job Specifications:

  • Cull images

  • Retouching wedding, event, portrait, and editorial shoots 

  • Photo research within our system

  • Maintaining & reviewing multiple portfolios

  • Album design working in Photojunction (we will train you)

  • Strong organizational skills
