Job Description
This position is PRN to cover shifts when needed. Pay is $18 / hour
Ready to make a real difference in residents' lives? As a PRN QMAP, you'll be the caring professional who meets residents' daily personal care needs while embodying our company's mission and values. You'll anticipate what residents need before they ask, spot potential issues, and keep our nursing team in the loop. Plus, you'll manage medications with precision—ensuring the right resident gets the right dose at the right time, every single time.
**Essential Duties**
- **Be the personal care champion**: Provide compassionate personal care services including assistance with bathing, dressing, meals, laundry, and other ADLs—all tailored to each resident's unique needs.
- **Stay one step ahead**: Anticipate and identify resident care needs (hygiene, broken eyeglasses, skin rash, lost hearing aids, supply needs) and report them to your supervisor.
- **Be the safety guardian**: Monitor resident safety and well-being, and keep your supervisor in the loop about any changes in resident status, health, or behavior.
- **Speak up when it matters**: Report any suspicion of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resources as required by regulation—you're an important part of our protection team.
- **Master medication management**: Assist residents with their prescribed daily medication routine in accordance with state law and medication administration protocols.
- **Communicate with confidence**: Alert your RN/LPN and/or supervisor of any questions or concerns with medication records or supplies—no question is too small.
- **Keep accurate records**: Ensure timely documentation of medication administration, including any medication refusals or treatment concerns.
- **Keep things running smoothly**: Restock medication carts and storage areas with miscellaneous supplies (gloves, sanitizer cups, etc.).
- **Build strong connections**: Maintain open communication with your supervisor and peers to keep everyone aware of resident issues and needs.
- **Embrace flexibility**: Take on other duties as assigned—you're part of a dynamic team!
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications & Experience
- Per the state of operation requirements, Medication certification; QMAP-A/L, Med Tech, Med Aide, Nurse Delegation
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
- High school or Equivalent (GED)
- One (1) year experience in some level of elder care preferred
- Proficient computer skills preferred
- Strong self-management and organization skills
- Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to handle competing deadlines, flexible and adaptable (open to change).
- Ability to effectively handle difficult and sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Constant standing, walking, and grasping. Frequent stooping and reaching above shoulder heights, occasional sitting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting.
- May have exposure to blood borne pathogens, body excretions and communicable diseases possible.
- Possible exposure to household chemicals.
- Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours.
- May be subject to frequent interruptions.
- Interacts with clients, family members and visitors frequently.
