Job Description

This position is scheduled Tuesday to Saturday 8am - 4:30pm with some rotating on call.  

Pay range is $22.75 - $25.56 / hour based on experience.

💼 Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Staffing and Scheduling, the Nursing Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring that our community’s skilled nursing staff are scheduled thoughtfully and efficiently. You’ll manage the daily and long-range scheduling needs of our nursing team, balancing staffing levels, skill sets, and resident needs—while building strong relationships along the way.

📝 Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage nursing staff schedules—including daily, weekly, on-call, weekend, and holiday shifts—in accordance with guidelines and staffing needs.

  • Track and report attendance and manage PTO and shift trades in collaboration with nursing leadership.

  • Respond to call-ins and fill open shifts, balancing budget and skill mix considerations.

  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing and nursing team to ensure smooth coordination.

  • Handle clerical tasks, maintain accurate records, and assist with timekeeping and payroll processes.

  • Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and resolve concerns with professionalism and empathy.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of healthcare scheduling experience strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology, shift differentials, and wage/hour compliance.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and time & attendance systems.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
