Job Description

This is a temporary position at our Holly Creek Community, 20 hours per week from December 26, 2022 to April 28, 2023

Position Summary

Responsible for providing ethical and spiritual leadership and pastoral care to residents, their families, and staff. Provides spiritual growth opportunities and serves as a visible presence of God’s love and grace.

Essential Duties

  • Assesses needs of pastoral care for residents and their family members.
  • Prepare and leads Sunday worship, mid-week Chapel and Bible Studies.
  • Works with Life Enrichment to provide holistic support of residents
  • Plan and lead memorial/funeral services.
  • Provide crisis intervention, support and counseling.
  • Continue to develop personal growth through reading and reflection and by writing devotionals and articles for publications and continuing education.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications & Experience

  • Masters of Divinity or equivalent preferred, Bachelors Degree in ministry, theology, social work or related field required.
  • At least 2 years experience in pastoral care or ministry working with senior adults.
  • Ability to minister to individuals with differing beliefs.
  • Ability to effectively teach.
  • Clinical Pastoral Education, Four (4) units preferred.
  • Knowledge with Microsoft suite
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
