Job Description

Christian Brothers High School seeks an innovative and inspirational art teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.  An ideal candidate will be a practicing artist who has a minimum of 3 years of high-school teaching experience.  Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to collaborate within a successful Fine Arts department and have wide-ranging knowledge of art materials and mediums.  Candidates must be interested in working with high-school boys of all ability levels in art and to help develop their artistic ability and interest in the visual arts.

·         Teach five sections of Visual Arts

·         Engage and inspire students through art-making techniques, art history, critique, and aesthetics

·         Effectively assess and clearly communicate development, growth, and progress to students and families

·         Collaborate with the Fine Arts faculty to display student art in a variety of media, within the school and       Memphis communities

·         Serve as an Advisor within our House system

·         Prepare an annual visual arts budget

Qualifications

Practicing Artist

Bachelor's degree in Art or related field (Master's degree is preferred)

·         Experience in teaching drawing, painting, ceramics, and woodwork

·         Have strong digital media skills

·         Extensive knowledge of the Adobe suite, publishing platforms, and digital equipment
