Job Description

Christian Brothers High School values all of the athletic and extra-curricular programs.  Competitive athletics are an important part of the educational process and experience. The CBHS athletic program reflects the school's philosophy of diversity, continued growth and achievement, and the development of a young man's self-awareness. Most importantly, Christian Brothers’ athletic teams provide an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to learn the value of integrity, teamwork, cooperation and mutual respect.

Therefore, the head strength and conditioning coach must be an excellent teacher, communicator, and coach. This individual must possess a growth mindset and be passionate about developing talent in a high school setting.  Additionally, the strength coach must be able to effectively manage and coordinate the training schedule of 10 teams and assigned wellness classes. 

The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for program design, implementation, monitoring and improvement. Other responsibilities include communication with coaches, athletic training staff and administration, while maintaining and organizing training records, and facility supervision.  Applicants must possess outstanding people skills, leadership skills, and a desire to improve athletic performance of our student athletes while bringing energy and passion to the athletic department.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field is required, and a Master’s degree is preferred. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCA (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Preferred qualifications also include previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises.

This person should demonstrate high character that is consistent with the Lasallian values at Christian Brothers High School. Qualified candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, motivational, teaching, and coaching skills.
