Job Description
Location: Rome (with regular travel with Italy and to Switzerland time to time)
Reports to: Global Brand Director (Etoy, Switzerland)
Role Purpose
The Italy Trade Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in connecting Brand Strategy with Shopper Activation, Sales Team and Retail Execution. This role is responsible for developing and implementing Italy commercial toolkits, elevating the in-store brand experience, and driving retailer partnership opportunities. The mission is to develop, coordinate, and innovate the Italy trade marketing approach, for direct and indirect channel, ensuring Chiquita campaigns, values, and product advantages are effectively presented, sold in, and activated with our trade partners. Italy trade marketing manager align the priorities with Global Brand Team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Adaptation of the Global Trade Toolbox and Development of the Italy Trade Toolbox
- Own and continuously improve the Chiquita Italy Trade Marketing Toolbox
- Develop compelling, systematic, and inspiring commercial presentations to bring all we do in marketing and key brand campaigns to life for customers (retailers, wholesalers)
- Build templates, creative sell-in decks, videos, visual assets, and storylines for all key global activations
- Ensure alignment between consumer campaigns and trade activations
- Recommend and Execute Trade Communication plan ( Trade Press , Billboards at the open market, other)
- Support Sales in external visits
2. Italy Channel Strategy & Alternative Distribution
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of Chiquita’s channel policy, aligned with global one.
- Explore and define opportunities in alternative channels (e.g., convenience, vending, digital retail, out-of-home, e-comm)
- Support Italy sales team in identifying and structuring new distribution paths that expand brand visibility and availability
- Align with Sales the objective of the Field Force
3. In-Store Experience & Retailer Engagement
- Design and pilot in-store concepts that make the shopper journey engaging, informative, and memorable
- Develop selling arguments and strategies to secure retailer and store owner buy-in for in-store support
- Translate marketing campaigns into retail theatre that is scalable and adaptable to different retail formats
4. POS Materials Re-Invention
- Lead the re-engineering and creative refresh of all Chiquita Point-of-Sale (POS) materials in synch with global trade marketing
- Ensure POS materials reflect modernity, freshness, and the playful nature of the brand
- Bring innovative thinking to physical touchpoints: modular, sustainable, digital-ready POS that break the clutter
- Align with global team and Define the message hierarchy of in-store materials: from snackability to origin to Chiquita’s iconic values and assets (including Tropics, Miss Chiquita, jingle ,..)
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Global Brand, Sales, Design Agencies
- Coordinate adaptation and localization of global materials , bring Italy required to in the global agenda
- Help upskill local teams on best-in-class trade marketing execution and brand storytelling at point-of-sale
Qualifications
Candidate Profile
1. Experience & Background
- 3–8 years of experience in Trade Marketing or Shopper Marketing roles
- Italy Background in FMCG and /or Fresh Produce, but not limited to Fresh Produce, ideally with experience on brand-led categories
- Demonstrated ability to build commercial toolkits, structure sell-in presentations, and collaborate cross-functionally
- Experience working with matrixed organizations
2. Key Skills
- Strong commercial storytelling and design briefing skills
- Excellent shopper understanding and channel dynamics knowledge
- Creativity in POS development and retail engagement
- Project management with attention to detail and executional excellence
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build partnerships with sales and marketing peers
