Job Description

We are looking for a driven, proactive and service minded Marketing Specialist to join the Global Marketing team. In this role, you will be a key player in supporting the Global Marketing Manager to develop and cascade marketing tools, services and initiatives for territories where Chiquita bananas are distributed.

You will work on key marketing projects and events from start to finish, working with internal teams and external contractors. As a key member of the marketing team, you will primarily coordinate with business owners, sales and regional marketing teams in EU and US. Our ideal candidate has experience with project management and coordinating events, and has a great deal of self-sufficiency in staying organized and accomplishing their duties.

The position will be based in Etoy, Switzerland reporting to the Global Marketing Manager.

 

The Position

The purpose of this role is to apply the global marketing strategy into local consumer activities which contribute to the profitable growth of the banana category in markets where Chiquita does not have a local Marketing Team.

Primary responsibilities

  •         Consumer promotions and point of sale activations:

o   Execute consumer promotions from start to finish define the scope of work of consumer promotions, secure internal approvals, brief internal and external teams to coordinate the execution of the promotion and, internal reporting of ongoing and final results

o   Support the local regional marketing teams in implementing the Global Marketing Strategy into consumer activities

o   Support the development and execution of consumer marketing activities nationally and account specific promotions in cooperation with the local sales team

o   Develop, evaluate and monitor deployment of in store materials, display solutions and other sales materials for field sales team

o   Development of corporate merchandising materials, POSM and display materials

  •          Global brand partnerships and sponsorships:

o   Assist in project management, evaluation and correspondence with potential brand partners and internal teams for cross-category campaigns/promotions/marathons

  •          Business Intelligence:

o   Review and cascade to sales team the weekly, monthly and quarterly business intelligence reports

  •          Administrative tasks:

o   Build and adhere to an event budget to avoid project overruns

o   Maintain the customer specific marketing budget both contracted and not contacted. These activities include but not limited to creating purchase orders and entering invoices into the system

o   Collaborate with the Marketing Team in administrative support in punctual events, such as tradeshows and other events.

 

Key Competencies

  •  2-3 years relevant work experience in event planning, brand/product management, business analytics, and/or financial related positions
  • 2+ years of event planning experience
  • Project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French/Spanish are a plus
