This senior position will represent Great White Fleet Liner Services in the North EU market with responsibility for growing market share, volume, and revenue for the company’s ocean and intermodal transportation service between North America and Central America. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with proven success in outside sales or trade management in the ocean or intermodal transportation industry, possess excellent communication skill, and have the desire and ability to work independently. 

Job Description

This is an outside sales position with the ideal candidate located close to the Rotterdam/Antwerp area.  The position will develop and execute sales strategy in the assigned territory to maximize Great White Fleet Liner Services’ market share, volume, and revenue in the North EU to Central America ocean and intermodal transportation trade.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter with proven success in outside sales, possess excellent communication skill, and have the desire and ability to work independently.   Duties Include:

·         Accountability for meeting revenue and volume sales targets.

·         Develop and implement a sales strategy to meet company goals.

·         Oversee the third-party agency network, ensuring adequate sales representation.

·         Implement and manage pricing policy to maximize revenue targets.

·         Monitor vendor performance and validate invoices.

·         Schedule and attend sales calls with designated accounts.

·         Prepare market performance assessments and other periodic reports as assigned.

·         Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to obtain the business.

·         Achieve subject matter expertise in the market and operations of the assigned territory.

·         Develop strong relationships with external and internal customers.

·         Contribute detailed input for budget development and review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field required.
  • Strong shipping experience is a must.
  • Experience in outside sales, in ocean or intermodal transportation services.
  • Familiarity with overall vessel and port operations.
  • Possess solid analytical skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Possess the maturity and leadership skills to steer the third-party agency network and protect the company’s interests at all times.
