Position
The Ripener is responsible for fruit ordering, to ripen the fruit according to the customers specification and to execute the delivery of the order, including the administration. The process also includes to follow the Quality Standards as recorded in the procedure of the company and in reference with the Food Inspection.
This position requires 24 hours, 7 days a week on call availability

The Ripener follows daily the instructions of the Lead Ripener but reports to the DC Manager

Job Description

Main Tasks

  •  Daily control/registration on color and pulp temperature.
  •  Deliver the final requested product according to specification.
  •  Assign ripening rooms for incoming product.
  •  Supervise the loading and unloading of incoming fruit, including fruit inspections.
  •  Control of inventory on a daily basis.
  •  Detect non-conformances and discuss with Lead Ripener and/or by absence/if needed with  DC Manager.
  •  Follow HACCP-values.
  •  Part of the HACCP Team.
  •  Supervision and support the Team Leader Packing and Packers.
  •  Ensure quality evaluations of incoming and outgoing fruit are carried out and recorded per requirements and reports on unusual fruit, pallet or packaging appearance and/or behavior.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Understanding how to produce/fruit behaves under different conditions, the effects of temperature, etc.
Specific experience on processing/ripening bananas is highly preferred as experiences in inventory control and quality assurance.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma and/or Technical background

Language skills:
