Responsibilities:

Understanding all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology for chemical manufacturing lines.
Working with Technical Advisors and plant personnel to optimize operations, meet business and plant goals including production, cost, quality, HS&E (Health, Safety, Environment), yield, and attainment.
Participating, identifying, and leading advanced trouble shooting using Six Sigma tools when necessary and coaches others to learn these skills.
Participating and leading Six Sigma and Productivity Improvement teams when necessary to continuously improve manufacturing operations
Implementing best practices in operations in order to optimize operations through understanding and applying skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology - to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality products.
Initiating changes to Plant operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date and working with Technical Advisors through the changes.
Networking with other engineers on site and within the global business to leverage knowledge on plant operations (i.e. Production, Improvement, etc.
Routinely communicating technical information and issues to plant personnel.
Completing CPARs & Root Cause Analysis for all product failures in assigned area.
Actively participating in Structured Safety Process.
Supporting the operating system by participating in Tier meetings, 5S and visual workplace.

Qualifications

Bachelors’ Degree in Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in a continuous chemical manufacturing processes preferred
3+ years of experience in an adsorbent materials manufacturing preferred
Six Sigma green belt certification, black belt preferred
Software knowledge of SAP preferred
