Job Description

The Regional Account Executive has a hunter mentality and enjoys the challenge of prospecting, identifying, and winning over independent retail customers.  Operating within a fast paced, technology-based environment the RAE will have the support of an experienced team of co-workers in Marketing, Customer Support, Product Management, and Technical Support.  The successful RAE will combine prospecting, new customer acquisition, and customer support with the focus on building a sales pipeline of $500k to $1 million.

Innovation is at our core, and the RAE will play an integral role in helping us provide intelligent solutions for the retail market. Checkpoint provides software, hardware, labels, tags and connected cloud-based solutions, and you will help to deliver projects that may span across all our business units.

Job Duties

  • Meet and exceed set sales quota while adhering to sales rules of engagement
  • Utilize available data analytics and other information to find, target and convert new customers
  • Working with Marketing to drive programs and events to attract and convert new prospects
  • Interact with Channel Partners when appropriate to assist in project hand-off or collaboration
  • Prepare written presentations, reports, price quotations, and RFQs
  • Perform site survey inspections on basic installations
  • Submit call and travel expense reports on timely basis
  • Provide monthly pipeline reports and product forecasts
  • Continually learn about new products, industry trends, and improved selling skills
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region, industry, and in particular retailer needs and requirements
  • Additional responsibilities, as requested by Senior Management

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Professional Sales courses a plus

Experience

  • 1-5 years of sales experience, preferably in a B2B capacity
  • Prior retail experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in competitive situations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen interest in technology
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • CRM experience, Salesforce preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Not afraid to escalate situations to others when necessary
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change with competing demands
  • Ability to work independently and to perform well under pressure
  • Able to travel locally or regionally when needed, up to 75%
