Job Description

The RFID Market Development Manager will be responsible for the identification and commercial development of RFID opportunities in markets outside of the traditional Checkpoint retail market. These new RFID markets may include traditional CCL markets such as pharmaceutical, wines and spirits, consumer electronics, automotive and others.  In traditional CCL markets, The RFID Market Development Manager will collaborate and coordinate with CCL division resources.  Where divisions are not able to provide the appropriate resources Checkpoint resources or alternative third party partners may be integrated into the team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate new potential RFID markets that can be exploited by the completive advantages of CCL/Checkpoint outside of retail defined applications.

Identify and develop targeted customer strategies for deployment by existing or new solutions.  Define and document both the strategic goals and the short term tactics to get there as a team project.

Maintain up-to-date market information on the use of RFID, RFID related products/services and market trends.

Represent CCL at selected conferences and trade shows including presenting appropriate material to improve the recognition and position of CCL and Checkpoint to end users.

Grow RFID sales by an amount agreed upon with constituents within the CCL/CKP family.

 Lead and direct resources needed to build and deploy new RFID applications

Periodically present new market ideas, successes and knowledge to appropriate company executive staff.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of commercial development experience in RFID or related fields such as telecom, IoT, satellite or radio industries.  A strong working knowledge of UFH solutions is a must; tags, readers/antenna and software [content management systems].

It is preferred for the candidate to have a technical degreed background such as appropriate engineering degrees and business degrees or sufficient training and experience that show an ability to represent the commercial value of the emerging RFID/IoT technologies with practical applications, in addition to “roadmap” applications.  The candidate must be able to defend selection of target markets with sound business principles, analysis and evaluations.

The successful candidate will have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.  Multi-lingual skills are a plus.

The candidate must be comfortable and skilled with direct customer contact at all levels of engagement, from C level to implementation level interactions.  An ability to provide hands-on support, training, and project management at different times is necessary.  The successful candidate will be able to move a project from ideation to pilot production and provide necessary problem solving practices, technical or organizational, as may be required.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop strategies for new RFID markets including the ability to work with manufacturing, R&D and other technical centers in developing portfolios of products and solutions that converge to ever-larger use case models.
