Job Description

The Process Technician position is responsible for in-house technical production issues and provides assistance in attaining an efficient running production shift.  The position works closely with all departments to ensure customers’ demands are met.  This position will serve as technical support for the production group including, but not limited to, the Shift Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians and Process Engineer.

Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot mold/molding problems.
  • Performs PM of molds and completes all paperwork.
  • Start-up of in-house molds as needed.
  • Complete tool teardowns, insert changes and repairs as needed.
  • Work team members to meet customer demands.
  • Review and ensure that quality requirements are met and maintained. Train other production co-workers on the requirements.
  • Establish mold process sheets to meet quality requirements per tool/product.
  • Prepare, load and unload molds being sent and returned from vendors.
  • Capable of performing production entries, updating timesheets, mold write-ups, maintenance requests and other paperwork related to the Shift Supervisor position.
  • Assist with new mold start-ups and help in the debug process.
  • Maintain the consumable inventory to required levels.
  • Maintain press area, mold bench and mold storage area in a clean, orderly fashion.
  • Assist in all automation projects.
  • Follow all safety process and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow the 6s principles.
  • Provides back up to Mold Setters, Shift Supervisors, and Maintenance Technicians as needed. This could involve working an off shift.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical / Technical training preferred

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in a plastics injection mold manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience in Mold Setting.
  • Injection Molding processing / trouble shooting experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Detail oriented individual with good mechanical aptitude that is able to troubleshoot, and problem solve.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of mold build and design.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 
  • Understanding and following all safety practices. 
  • Must be a team player and able to work with all levels across the organization.  
  • Self- started able to work little supervision.  
  • Solid computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office. 
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Ability to operator towmotor and overhead crane.   
  • Capable of handling up to 100 lbs. by hand.  
  • Flexibility to work 2nd and 3rd Shift.
  • Overtime is required, as needed.
