Job Description

This position assembles and packs products according to Bill of Materials or verbal instructions.  Must insure quality of product being assembled/packed.  Responsible for total quality of the job assigned.

  • Read and follow Bill of Materials.
  • Follow quality specifications provided by Quality staff and general quality specifications of injection molding (no shorts, no flash, no waves, no discolor, no distortion, etc.).
  • Follow safety and manufacturing guidelines and rules
  • Arrive at job site 5 minutes early to receive update information on the job they are taking over/starting for that day.
  • Must remain at workstation at all times, unless relived by another team member.  This prevents build up of product/scrap caused by unattended workstations.
  • Must keep workstation clean.
  • Responsible to keep Supervisors informed of quality issues, press/machinery problems.
  • Responsible to properly label products they are producing and place their operator number/initials on each carton.
  • Keep up with production standards (cycle of products produced).
  • Provides back up coverage to other team members for breaks, etc.
  • Follow directions given by Shift Supervisor, Quality Auditor and fill-in leader as needed.
  • Help meet goals of less than 1% scrap on the assigned job.
  • Work to maintain a safe work area.  
  • Must wear ear plugs for hearing protection and any other PPE as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education

  • HS Diploma or GED, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Requires manual dexterity skills.
  • Attention to detail and able to visual see any product defects.
  • Basic math.
  • Able to follow work instructions.
  • Able to work in a team environment, and maintain a positive team attitude.
  • Able to read and understand Bill of Materials.
  • Follow and adhere to Safety requirements, including wearing PPE as required.
  • May require prolong sitting or standing.
  •  Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Lifting and bending to move box of finished products to skid.
