Job Description

The Senior Manager U.S. Human Resources will provide leadership in all aspects of Human Resources, specifically Benefits, Recruitment, Compliance, Employee Relations & Engagement, Recognition & Rewards and Compensation. This will include leadership for the development, implementation, and linking of Human Resources policies, programs, and processes with corporate strategy in order to achieve business objectives. The Senior Manager will manage a team of 3 HR professionals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Direct HR Operations for the U.S. and serve as a member of the U.S. Leadership team.
  • Ensure strong delivery of HR programs and services including Benefits, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Compensation, Compliance, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Recognition & Rewards and Development & Training.
  • Act as a business partner to all areas and levels within the organization.
    • Build strong relationships with U.S. business leaders; learn all aspects of their departments to best service them. 
    • Conduct confidential investigations into employee relations matters in a fair and consistent manner; ensure that Checkpoint’s progressive discipline guidelines are followed and recommend solutions to complex employee relations problems. 
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and enforce U.S. HR policies and procedures.
    • Manage all legal/regulatory/labor law issues which impact the organization.
  • Lead the organization’s talent acquisition efforts, ensuring that Checkpoint acquires and retains the best possible talent in the U.S.   Strong talent assessment skills are required, LinkedIn sourcing experience preferred.
  • Develop and drive diversity initiatives for Checkpoint U.S.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to build a culture of respect and inclusiveness.
  • Gain and maintain organizational trust through competent, open, and consistent actions and communications.
  • Serve as advisor to Employee Activities Committee (EAC)
  • Serve as primary contact for CCL’s immigration counsel and for foreign employees who require assistance with their visa petitions; ensure that each employee submits required information in a timely manner so that USCIS deadlines are met.
  • Manage U.S. HR budget.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • 5-10 years of HR experience with a track record of progressively more responsible positions.
  • Prefer 2 years in a supervisory role.

Direct Experience

  • In Benefits, Recruitment, Compensation, Employee Relations & Engagement and Compliance.
  • As a Generalist in an office and technology environment.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing and/or field service, a plus.
  • Leading diverse Human Resource programs that support the business strategy and provide long-term value to both the company and its stakeholders.
  • Conducting confidential Employee Relations investigations.
  • Partnering with senior leadership in influencing, driving, and supporting business strategy & HR priorities.
  • Using an Applicant Tracking System
  • Consulting on Organization Design & Effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements: Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid general business sense.  Knowledge of functions and operations outside the Human Resource function.
  • Demonstrated courage to always do what’s right and who will serve as a role model for operating with unwavering integrity and candor.                              
  • Strong understanding of Human Resource disciplines including , recruitment/staffing, benefits, employee relations, diversity, HR administration, employee engagement, employment law, and all areas of HR compliance (EEO, AAP, FMLA etc.).  
  • Proven ability to attract, assess, influence and coach strong talent.                                                                                                                
  • Exceptional attention to detail with focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to audit payroll, benefits and all compliance related areas in HR.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication & strong presentation skills.
  • A self-motivated, results driven, highly energetic, and collaborative team player.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • An ability to identify, attract, develop and motivate an HR team by establishing high standards, communicating effectively and providing feedback & coaching.
