The Solution Architect will work as part of Checkpoint Systems RFID Solutions team to architect, design, develop, customize and implement our Halo software for our end customers. 

• Interact with customers to understand business requirements and scope, Customer expectations regarding the solution, identify stakeholders and communicate the vision for the solution to them.
• Model solution in business terms (current/future data and process flows, business requirements, critical success factors, etc.)
• Create and document architecture for the solution and technical design based on Checkpoint Halo Platform and Solutions. Identify gaps in the product and how to address them. Identify integration points with customer software and integration details if necessary. Identify UI requirements.
• Develop the project functional and technical specifications based on the customer requirements workshop
• Estimate, plan and oversee the solution development and deployment.
• Lead the development and internal testing effort, working with a combination of US, European and India resources. Provide technical and architectural leadership for a team of engineers.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Contribute to and follow solutions development processes. Do hands on software development using JAVA/J2EE and Mobile (Swift/Objective-C, Android) technologies
• Respond to and resolve urgent customer issues.
• Work with Client Services, Pre-sales and Engineering teams in different geographical locations (US, Europe, India) on solution requirements, product functionality and gaps.

• Degree in Computer Science or related fields
• 10 to 15 years of experience in Java Technologies. Experience in Android and/or iOS Development. Technical management in product companies is preferable.

  • Software Architecture
    • Design Skills with 5 Years hands on experience in designing software products
      • Develop the overall technical design for secure enterprise and RFID (radio frequency identification) systems and applications 
      • Expertise in technologies such as Core Java, J2EE, Webservices, JMS, ORM, etc
      • Proficient in Mobile Application Development (iOS or Android)
      • Hands on experience in integration /data exchange between different tools and applications 
      • Ability to write complex queries in Databases (Document DBs (e.g. Mongo DB), RDBMS (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Abilities

    • Hands-on experience in coding and debugging

    • Individual Contributor 

    • Should have been responsible for Technical delivery and solution architecture delivery for projects.

    • Experience in deployment and supporting solutions for customers

    • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Knowledge

    • Domain experience in Retail industries is desired

    • Hands on experience on Android development is desirable
