Job Description
To support our ongoing expansion across the Americas region, Checkout.com is now actively seeking a highly-driven and energetic Senior Manager to support in establishing and leading the Atlanta-based treasury team, reporting into the Americas Treasurer. The role will be instrumental in supporting broader expansion in the US, focusing on bank regulatory initiatives, including but not limited to, regulatory applications, establishing processes to comply with bank regulatory capital and liquidity requirements, and working closely with external regulators and our internal legal team from initial conversations through execution.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience dealing with regulators and senior management in a payments-focused, banking or other regulated financial institution and act as the senior person responsible for Treasury legal entity and regulatory matters within the US. The ideal candidate will be highly strategic and will deploy an owner mindset. They will be well-organized, adaptable to the changing demands of the role, and capable of independent and autonomous decision-making to drive Checkout.com’s ambitious expansion goals in a fast-paced environment.
Role overview | Remit and Responsibilities
Amongst other duties, the incoming Treasury leader will be responsible for:
- Provide strategy, direction, and oversight for Treasury activities for our regulated US entities within the Group framework.
- Jointly with other senior management in the US and at Group, drive forward the conversations with regulators and assist in any license applications needed.
- Be the primary Finance/Treasury responsible person and contact with US regulators.
- Assist with setting up governance committees (e.g. ALCO) as needed in our US regulated entities.
- Grow the US Treasury teams over the coming years
- Oversee and assume overall responsibility for Treasury statutory, regulatory and management reporting in line with external and internal policy requirements.
- Identifying prudential risk regulatory requirements and developing models, risk appetites and management approaches that also align with group-wide policies.
- Work closely with the Group Treasury functions to develop and implement entity specific policies and procedures, including capital and liquidity models required to comply with local regulations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the role will bring:
- 8+ years of Treasury experience in an international setup at a regulated financial institution
- Strong understanding of prudential risks such as liquidity and capital risk and experience with applying supervising controls
- Experience dealing with prudential regulators in a senior management capacity
- Financial modeling and analytics experience
- Highly analytical, strategic problem solver with strong ideas and foresight
- In-depth understanding of Treasury processes, including but not limited to, cash management, bank account management and Treasury operations with strong willingness to learn new products/processes
- Strong communicator with the ability to build cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight delivery schedules and prioritize accordingly, communicating roadmaps and deliverables clearly and articulately
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- High level of technical proficiency with MS Excel
- Prior experience managing and motivating a diverse, high-performing team
- Humility, low-ego and will be an ideal champion of our mission and values
