Job Description

Checkout.com is looking for an Associate, Financial Control to join our EU Finance team reporting to the Regional Finance Director.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join a rapidly expanding global company. The role is in a multi-layered global finance team covering our main EU entity in France. 

The ideal candidate will be a team player, someone that is motivated with excellent communication skills. You will be joining a growing global controller team that is building a more controlled and best in class environment. The role contributes to the reporting and month end processes for our French entity. There will also be involvement in the reporting and financial control of the branches such as Italy.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Responsible for monthly postings in the accounting system.
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations. 

  • Review of supplier invoices to check account ledger coding and cost centre allocation.

  • Working towards continuous improvements in the month end process.

  • Support the global and regional statutory audit process and assist with queries.

  • Assist with the information gathering for quarterly and half yearly regulatory returns.

  • Support the wider teams such as Accounts Payable and FP&A with queries.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) with 1-2 years post qualified experience.
  • Able to work towards tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Comfortable being a contact point in finance and liaising with numerous stakeholders. across Checkout and external providers including auditors and accountants.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel.

  • Systems knowledge, particularly Workday would be highly desirable.

  • Experience with regulatory reporting

  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in French is desired, but not necessary.
