Sales Director at Checkout.com:


Reporting into our Senior Director, Sales, Checkout.com is actively looking for a passionate and results-oriented Sales Director to help co-lead our growing Northern European Sales team. You will bring extensive experience leading teams in the Payments and / or B2B Enterprise space and is adept at building lasting relationships with merchants and colleagues alike. The incoming Director should be comfortable being close to the detail and hands-on when they need to be, as well as able to make key strategic decisions that complement and contribute to Checkout.com’s regional and overall corporate global strategy.


How you’ll make impact:

● Build, lead, mentor, and energize a regional commercial team in achieving revenue targets by successfully selling Checkout.com’s products to Northern European based merchants.
● Serve as a subject matter expert internally and externally on payments and the wider ecosystem by working closely with teams across Marketing, Partnerships, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Operations, Product, Technology, and People to optimize processes, roadmaps, collaboration and productivity.
● Work in close partnership with our wider Commercial team to align Marketing and Sales in
generating strong leads, driving engagement and ultimately closing increased deal volume.
● Deliver the necessary structure, cadence, quality and discipline to create professionalized, scalable and world-class commercial capability.

Qualifications

About You:

● Global Commercial Experience – Strong track record of building and leading a commercial team while being part of a larger global commercial organization. Will have managed teams and delivered exceptional results in a best-in-class environment. Will ideally bring deep knowledge and understanding of both payments and enterprise ecosystems.
● Leadership and Team Management – Will be an inspiring, engaging people leader and
communicator able to set a vision and bring people with them. Will have a proven track record
in attracting, recruiting, managing and developing talent, as well as running high-performing,
inclusive commercial teams. Will be able to present a vision and attain buy-in from internal
and external stakeholders at all levels. Will be highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder
management, and a strong and credible contributor to executive team decision-making.
Commercial, Analytical and Data-Driven – Will be both experienced and credible in building
valuable relationships with senior leaders / decision-makers in enterprise businesses. Will have a strong sense of financial acumen and analytical skills with a structured problem-solving and data-driven approach to metrics.
Growth and Scale-Up Experience – Will have operated in a high-growth environment and
understand what it takes to operate in growth mode, sometimes with lean resources, and be
able to cope with the ambiguity and change associated with a fast-paced, pre-IPO company.
Intellectually curious and eager to learn. Passionate about the FinTech and payments sectors.
Strategic and Close to the Detail – Will have a strategic mind-set, but will also adopt a
hands-on approach, and be close to the detail, as needed. Will be exceptional at driving
prioritization across an increasingly complex and evolving product portfolio.
Payments SME – Will understand Checkout.com’s competitive landscape and know what
separates a stellar Enterprise payments partner from a mediocre one. Will ideally bring a track record of growing “share of wallet” and driving incremental revenue growth (i.e. from
cross-sell/up-sell opportunities) as well as net new growth.
