Job Description
The Team
The People Advisory team are our regional People generalists, who span across partnering and operations, acting as the advisor to the business and the People team on the market(s) they oversee.
People Advisors combine credible activism, culture and change stewardship and our role as organisational developers to build and strengthen Checkout.com’s colleague experience across the globe. From APAC to the Americas, MENAP to EMEA, our People Advisors provide critical awareness and understanding on the regions that we serve today and how we manage our geographical footprint.
The Role
As a Specialist, People Advisory you share responsibility for the health, compliance and engagement for the region and/or market that you are responsible for. You will build, optimise and iterate on the core components across the employee lifecycle. As a guardian of local communication and culture, you will provide critical cut through for CKO’s People Strategy and act as a key conduit to see that our department KRs and big rocks land with success.
You will have a depth of knowledge for your market, including employment law and best employment practices, as well as experience of and/or capability as a partner to drive value across the talent agenda regionally. You will have had exposure to matrixed organisations, scale-up ecosystems where there are foundations to lay and, most importantly, have a flexible mindset across all strategic, tactical and operational aspects of HR.
Partnership
- People Business Partners - alignment and close working relationship with the department PBPs to support cyclical and situational business priorities, as well as advisory on regional best practice.
- Employee Engagement - support with the analysis of quarterly and bi-annual engagement reporting. Staying close to sensitive hotspots and support with action planning through workshops and facilitation with local teams as required.
- Employee Relations - be one of the go-to people for local ER issues, seeking simplicity in complexity and developing the organisation’s zero tolerance policy to misconduct and performance interventions.
- People Team – subject matter expert for Estonia employment law and customs for the People team.
People compliance, practices and services
- Legal – work closely with counterparts in the Employment Law team to review and update documentation of current markets including contracts of employment and how we manage employee relations cases.
- Practices - assess and advise on regional application of global policy, acting as a decision-maker on the level and timing of local deviation and where a globally unified approach does not apply in practice.
- Employee lifecycle - review, iterate and optimise process design and experience for key employee lifecycle activity, including changes and offboarding.
- Compliance – uphold a high standard of people compliance across systems, audits and any regulatory requirements.
- People Services - as a central People Services team is in creation, hold responsibility (through the team) for developing and meeting SLAs to system updates and other queries as they arise through a central inbox or Slack.
Qualifications
About you
- Experience of leading transformational and organisational change
- Good knowledge of employee relations in the Estonia
- Experience delivering, reviewing and optimising multiple change projects simultaneously
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Comfortable with ambiguity, ability to flex and adapt and resilient through periods of change
- Not afraid to challenge; ensuring the right decisions are made for our people and our business
- Excellent communication in Estonian and English, both written and verbal
