Job Description

The role

We're looking for a Sanctions Data Analyst to strengthen the company’s OFAC/Sanctions Technology programme! Reporting into the Global Head of Sanctions, you'll have the opportunity to improve your technical skills by working in a big data environment and work with multiple stakeholders within the organization to pull reports and create dashboards.

 

How you’ll make an impact

  • Identifying key risks, controls and corrective action plans related to the regulatory projects as well as automating and innovating processes existing in Compliance
  • Data mining and performing searches using SQL and or Python to run and produce key statistical reports
  • Creating rules centered around fuzzy logic and run queries as it relates to sanctions data
  • Collaborating with business partners, data engineers and infrastructure partners to capture requirements, extract insights and develop viable solutions
  • Performing solution reviews and update requirements to align with changing environment needs
  • Possess a good sense of visual design to present analytical results.
  • Active ownership and accountability for tracking on all assigned development and operational projects
  • Staying ahead of emerging tools, techniques and technologies in machine learning, statistical modelling and analytics
  • Developing and reporting on key sanctions related KRI/MIS

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • BA/BS Degree 3–5-years’ experience working within sanctions compliance/Data functions of a financial Institution
  • Heavy knowledge of SQL and Python programming language
  • Experience with sanctions regulations and working in compliance/ Fin Crime environment
  • Solid understanding of payment products and services
  • In-depth understanding and working knowledge of sanctions regulations and compliance requirements and standards that impact the sanctions risk for a global financial services firm including transaction screening
  • Strong organizational skills to identify, analyze, document and report issues
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timely deadlines.
  • Draft reports outlining testing strategies, objectives, scope, findings, and recommendations
  • Work closely with multiple departments to complete projects and tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate and work closely with internal and external contacts daily
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, SQL, Python, Fircosoft Continuity and Fircosoft Compliance Link/or experience in using other database applications
