Job Description
We are looking for a passionate software developer to join our Cloud Infrastructure team, where we design and develop Check Point WAF's cloud infrastructure that protects our largest customers worldwide.
Check Point's WAF is a cloud-native web application firewall that protects applications and APIs from modern threats, including OWASP Top 10 attacks, bots, and zero-day exploits.
In this role, you will actively contribute to our infrastructure by designing and implementing new features considering security, cost and scale. In addition, this role also requires to occasionally implement features for customers.
You will join a team of software developers and devops engineers with a relentless get-things-done approach who are willing to contribute to all areas of development and constantly evolve their knowledge.
Major Responsibilities
- Participate in improving Check Point's WAF cloud infrastructure across various domains: Backend, frontend, devops and automation if needed. Expertise in all of them is not required, but willingness to jump in is a MUST.
- Take full ownership of features end-to-end, from design through production, including showcasing the feature, fixing bugs and teaching the team.
- Assist in supporting deployment, maintenance and scale of multi-tenant cloud environments using AI, IaC and CI/CD.
- Build and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, using data and metrics with a KPI-oriented approach.
- Support production environment and troubleshoot issues as part of our on-call rotation.
- Collaborate closely with other developers, product managers, Customer success, Sales, NOC, higher management and internal teams providing technical support.
- Most importantly, be a strong and positive team player with a high sense of ownership and a “get-things-done” mindset.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a software developer or devops engineer
- B.Sc. in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Experience using AI-powered development tools (preferably Claude Code)
- Strong experience developing large-scale microservices in the cloud (preferably Golang or Python)
- Experience with databases, preferably NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB)
- Experience with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes using EKS
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), especially networking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with caching, messaging, and streaming technologies (e.g., Redis and Kafka)
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals from both administrator and developer perspectives.
- Experience with frontend development using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with observability technologies (e.g., Prometheus and Grafana)
- Familiarity with Gitlab CI/CD methodologies and tools
- Familiarity with GraphQL
- Familiarity with GitOps like ArgoCD
