Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Quality Engineer to own the validation and automation of networking infrastructure within GAIA OS. The role combines deep Linux networking knowledge, strong automation expertise, and end-to-end quality ownership to ensure reliable, scalable, secure, and high-performance software releases..
- Own the end-to-end quality validation of GAIA OS networking infrastructure across functional, integration, regression, and scale testing.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks to improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and product reliability.
- Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features, high availability, routing, switching, and security capabilities across diverse deployment scenarios.
- Identify, isolate, and drive resolution of complex software defects by working closely with development, architecture, and product teams.
- Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and quality processes to enable faster and more reliable software releases.
- Contribute to the overall quality strategy by identifying test gaps, improving automation coverage, and strengthening product resilience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8–12 years of hands-on experience in networking infrastructure testing and test automation for enterprise or security products.
- Strong understanding of Linux internals, the Linux networking stack, and operating system architecture.
- Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, including Ethernet, VLAN, ARP, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LLDP, and routing fundamentals.
- Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, Shell, or similar languages for developing scalable automation frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex system-level issues.
