Front end web developer

  • Castleton Cl, Leeds LS12, UK
  • Full-time

Company Description

We’re a friendly, straight-talking bunch of employer branding experts who believe people aren't valued enough by their employers, and we're out to help change that. Our clients include some of the biggest names on the high street and TV, and we’re helping them to refine their employer brand, produce cutting edge careers websites and award winning creative recruitment campaigns.

We blend creative ideas with good old-fashioned client service to put smiles on the faces of our clients and right now we’re looking for a Front End Web Developer to combine the art of design with the craft of HTML and CSS.

Job Description

If you like to get stuck in and work on all kinds of projects as part of a small team – you’ll fit right in at Chatter. You’ll work with our in house studio to translate flat designs and Adobe XD wireframes into slick careers websites for a range of big name brands, and you’ll work closely with our Head of Web Development to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and helping define how sites look as well as work, and pushing forward what's possible for creative interactive careers websites.

You’ll get involved in building responsive mobile-first HTML, CSS and Javascript for a range of HR related sites, build reusable code and libraries for future use, help check that designs and plans are technically feasible to build and optimise pages for speed and scalability using tools like Google Lighthouse.

Qualifications

Ideally you’ll have some experience in a similar role or some great sites to show us in your portfolio. So, if you’re well versed in HTML5, CSS, SASS, Vanilla-JS/Jquery, and Git and up to speed with the basics of SEO and Accessibility too, then you should get in touch!

Added bonus points if you’ve any experience with working with PHP, ExpressionEngine CMS, 11ty (or other Static Site Generators), Webpack, VueJS, Laravel and Chatbots - but these aren’t essential.

Additional Information

In return, we offer a competitive salary, bonus scheme, private health insurance, season ticket loan, and all the personal and professional development you can eat. We're based in a converted mill just 15 minutes' walk from Leeds city centre. Obviously we’re currently working remotely due to Covid 19, but in normal times we’ve an appetite for all things social, enjoying a little more than our fair share of work events, drinks, nights out, and away days, too.

This is a full time role, but we’re grown ups about when and where you do your work, so while in the future you’ll need to be able to get to the office for meetings and collaborative work, we’re also all set up to work from home when needed too.

We passionately believe in an inclusive workplace, and welcome applications from everybody regardless of gender, race, religion, orientation, age or disability.

Salary will be £25,000 to £35,000 dependent on experience.
