Additional Compensation Details:
- Starting Wages at $20.00 per hour
- Potential 90-day performance-based raise

Job Description
The Role: The Loader is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely loading of outbound customer orders onto delivery trailers. Working closely with Dispatch, Drivers, and Shipping leadership, this position ensures all shipments are loaded according to routing requirements, verifies order accuracy, and maintains strict compliance with dock and forklift safety procedures. The ideal candidate possesses strong forklift operating skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient shipping operation.
(*Full Time / PM Shift / Non-seasonal)
Essential Duties and Responsibities (any combination of the following job duties):
- Operate single and single-double forklifts safely and efficiently within shipping and loading dock areas.
- Fill out paperwork for truck inspection for each truck to be loaded.
- Perform required trailer safety checks prior to loading, including:
- Confirming trailer parking brakes are engaged.
- Verifying wheel chocks are properly secured.
- Ensuring dock plates and loading platforms are fully lowered and secured before entering the trailer.
- Load trailers according to dispatch instructions, route requirements, and driver load requests.
- Verify products, pallet counts, quantities, and order information prior to loading to ensure shipment accuracy.
- Inspect completed orders and identify discrepancies before shipments depart.
- Ensure outbound loads are staged and loaded in a manner that minimizes product damage and supports delivery efficiency.
- Follow all company forklift operating procedures and safety regulations.
- Report accidents, near misses, equipment damage, product damage, or safety concerns immediately to management.
- Monitor dock activity and ensure drivers remain clear of active loading zones.
- Prevent unauthorized use of company forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Communicate shipment concerns, inventory discrepancies, loading delays, and safety issues to Dispatch and Management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping dock environment.
- Follow all instructions provided by Dispatchers, Supervisors, and Management.
- Comply with all company food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to immediately notify their manager, supervisor, or designated food safety personnel of any condition, practice, product, or situation that may compromise food safety, food quality, regulatory compliance, or product integrity.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) year of forklift experience preferred.
- Experience operating both single and single-double forklifts.
- Experience loading and securing outbound shipments in a distribution, warehouse, or shipping environment.
- Experience verifying orders and ensuring product accuracy before shipment.
- Strong understanding of shipping dock safety practices and trailer loading procedures.
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift Certification.
- Experience in produce distribution, food distribution, or cold storage operations.
- Experience working with shipping documentation, manifests, load sheets, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
