Senior Electrical Test Engineer based in Shropshire

This is an exciting opportunity for a Test Technician / Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Shropshire.

The company started over 25 years ago to provide EMC testing and consultancy for the European market. The business won an award in 1992 for design innovation and in 1996 emerged with a wider vision for European Conformity marking which included all aspects of evaluating products for safety and performance.

Our Client has multiple testing facilities accredited by UKAS to evaluate products for EMC, radio communication, electrical safety, mechanical and environmental performance and they have been appointed by Brussels as a Notified Body for 2014/30/EU Electromagnetic Compatibility.

Job Responsibilities for the Electrical Safety Test Technician / Engineer

The position offers the opportunity to be part of our dynamic testing team providing clients with accredited testing, certification and consultancy. They are qualified by the British Government and the European Commission for assessing safety and performance of a wide range of electrical and electronic equipment.

Candidates will need experience of:

·Minimum ONC / BTEC or equivalent in electrical/electronic or related subject.

·Hands-on experience of EN60335-1, 60950-1, 61010-1 or 60601-1

·A working knowledge of electronic components and ability to read and understand schematic diagrams;

·Self-motivation and confidence to discuss technical issues with clients;

·A willingness to learn and develop in a quality-controlled environment

Experience of working in a UKAS testing laboratory would be advantageous.

You will work in a modern high-tech laboratory on a wide range of products assisting the Lab Manager to assess product conformity to EN and IEC standards. The role involves using electrical and electronic test equipment and computers, taking measurements, and writing test reports.
