Job Description

As a performance tracking and continuous improvement advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that we are able to provide the required reports with respect to project performance tracking. In order to add value to these performance reports, you will be responsible for analyzing them to identify areas for improvement throughout the project life cycle. The other key responsibility of this role is the continuous improvement of the overall program. You will be required to work as part of the project team, and in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement department. 

More specifically, you will:  

  • Collaborate with the project manager, manage and develop reports of contractual performance data, such as man hours and schedule compliance
  • Assist the frigate program team in performance analysis such as trends and opportunities with a focus on proactive action to improve project delivery
  • Collaborate with the continuous improvement team to ensure that all processes related to project control performance tracking meet the required contractual requirements
  • Support the project manager and other internal stakeholders with custom reporting needs and special projects requirements
  • Support the program manager in the Identification of program risks
  • Utilize organizational and financial metrcis to drive sustainable program improvement through tools and methodology to reduce waste, optimize processes, and improve quality process controls
  • Support multi-functional work teams in cooperation with other CI staff to complete approved CI initiatives
  • Assist gathering close out data from projects for performance, benchmarking and CI purposes
  • Maintain a risk and lessons learned register and coordinate the handling of these by the stakeholders involved
  • Perform any other related tasks that supports performance improvement and CI as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Business degree or Engineering degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the maritime field is considered an asset
  • Bilingualism is mandatory 
  • Familiar with the principles of project control methodologies
  • Sound understanding of Shipbuilding project delivery phases, activities performed in each phase, and associated project controls deliverables (asset)
  • Expert knowledge in CI methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen, and hold certification in at least one methodology
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing CI projects designed to drive operational and/or financial target achievement
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented 
  • Good ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good stress management
  • Methodical and rigorous
