Job Description
The Opportunity: Own a Piece of What You Build
Are you handy, organized, and looking for a career where your hard work actually impacts the bottom line? At Chandos, our Tool Technicians are the engine that keeps our project sites running safely and efficiently.
This role is a prime entry-point into our warehouse and logistics operations. We don’t just hire for where you are today - we hire for where you can go tomorrow.
The Ownership Advantage: Chandos is 100% employee-owned. We aren't a publicly traded company, and we don't answer to outside shareholders. We answer to each other.
- Invest in Yourself: Every employee has the opportunity to become an owner by purchasing units in the company.
- Shared Success: When the company has a successful year, the board may approve a distribution to all unit holders. It is a way for you to directly benefit from the company’s growth.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Because we are all owners, we treat the gear and the business like it's ours - because it is.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of our tight-knit, three-person warehouse team, you ensure our field crews have the best, safest tools in their hands. Your day-to-day will include:
- Precision Maintenance: Inspect, service, and perform minor repairs on a variety of gear - from drills and grinders to generators and pressure washers.
- Inventory Leadership: Fulfill tool orders from request forms and phone calls, ensuring our sites have exactly what they need, when they need it.
- Safety Stewardship: Conduct incoming/outgoing inspections. At Chandos, safety isn't a checkbox; it's a core value.
- Logistics & Coordination: Manage the flow of tools across warehouse zones and coordinate with external partners for specialized recertifications.
- Workspace Excellence: Help maintain a clean, organized, and highly functional shop environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years in tool/shop work or the construction industry. Experience in tool rental is a plus.
- Technical Skill: Comfortable identifying tool wear and performing basic repairs (handles, cords, blades, filters, etc.).
- The "Gear": Familiarity with cordless/corded drills, impact drivers, concrete hammers, grinders, pneumatic nailers, generators, air compressors, and plate compactors.
- Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 license with a clean abstract.
- Physical Requirements: This is a physical role. You must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 80 lbs) for 50 feet, climb ladders, and perform strenuous labour in various conditions.
