Job Title: Chief Estimator

NOC: 22303 – Construction Estimators 

Salary: $170,000-215,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Job Duties

• Plan, coordinate and direct all estimating functions for commercial and industrial construction projects
• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, cost summaries and preliminary schedules
• Analyze drawings, specifications and tender documents to determine scope and requirements
• Lead subcontractor and vendor solicitation, evaluation and selection
• Develop bid proposals and supporting documentation aligned with project objectives
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings, strategy sessions and client presentations
• Identify project risks and opportunities and communicate findings 
• Mentor and support estimating team members to strengthen technical capability
• Support handoff of successful tenders to operations, ensuring clarity and continuity

• 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial or institutional construction estimating, including leadership responsibility
• 5+ years as estimating leadership
• Experience preparing estimates for complex, multi‑million‑dollar projects
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and cost‑modelling techniques
• Experience coordinating subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools
• Post‑secondary education in construction, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience

Work Environment

• Office‑based role with occasional site visits
• Fast‑paced pre‑construction and estimating environment
• Collaboration with project management, operations, and senior leadership teams
