Job Description

The Superintendent is responsible for the management of all field and site-specific construction activities, including the Chandos Production System, project design, budget, schedule, performance, subtrades, and profitability of commercial construction projects. This person must be able to communicate effectively with the project manager and the client to stay abreast of all changes and requirements. The Superintendent is responsible for providing direction and leading Chandos staff in the field.

• Ensure site safety, compliance with regulations, and clear communication of roles.

• Support continuous improvement and quality management systems.

• Manage project activities, budgets, and subcontractor relationships.

• Oversee documentation, including safety logs, timesheets, and purchase orders.

• Coordinate site logistics, equipment, and waste diversion efforts.

• Maintain client relationships and meet project specifications.

• Facilitate staff training and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman trade certification or equivalent experience.
  • Technical diploma and/or Gold Seal certification are considered assets.
  • Leadership training and safety certificates.
  • Five or more years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Three or more years of supervisory or management experience in the construction field.
  • Wood frame and multi-family experience preferred
