Job Description

Reporting to the controller, the accounting manager will be well versed in both accounts payable and account receivable as well as leading and supporting a rapidly developing team. This individual thrives in an environment focused on continuous improvement, has strong knowledge in working with automation projects and has documented experience in developing KPIs and metrics to monitor performance and efficiency.

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Administrative Accounting functions
  • Manage a team of 15+ employees, with 3 direct reports, accountable for timely and accurate payment of our vendors, billings to our clients and management of employee expenses and purchase orders
  • Develop and monitor KPI’s to measure the teams performance and proactively identify areas of concern and proposed solutions
  • Review existing processes, identifying areas to improve the end user experience and job satisfaction for the Accounting team
  • Support the implementation of process automation and system integrations while ensuring customer service level is maintained
  • Maintain internal process and training documentation, providing support to team members and employees outside the department
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the operations team to foster healthy and functional teamwork between team members

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of progressively responsible work experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a management role
  • Accounting diploma / degree
  • Construction industry experience an asset
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, experience working with queries and data tables is an asset
