Job Description

The role of the Risk and Loss Prevention Manager is to oversee risk management, insurance, bonding and internal controls. The Risk and Loss Prevention Manager will also assist with ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements. The successful candidate will help to build this new role and have the opportunity to take on added responsibility as this is developed and as the organization grows.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manages and administers the Enterprise risk management (ERM) process
  • Researches and suggests ways to improve the ERM process at Chandos and provides training and support to managers
  •  Manages the annual insurance renewal process and works closely with internal legal council to respond to insurance events and claims
  • Liaison with insurance providers to answer questions and ensures coverage is in place as required
  • Maintains and updates internal control documentation, suggesting process changes as needed
  • Review and approves project setup requests ensuring compliance with policies and verifying documentation such as land titles, property reports as well as verification of financing as required
  • Manage and supervise administrative support role

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business / Finance / Economics is an asset
  • CPA designation is an asset
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience including experience in Risk Management or Internal Controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications specifically Microsoft Excel
