Job Description

EnviroDNA products and services are used across Australia and internationally to support biodiversity assessments, threatened species detection, waterway monitoring, soil biome analysis, marine and blue carbon programs, ecological research, and compliance reporting. 

The Inside Sales Specialist plays a central role in supporting business development across priority sectors. This position combines lead generation, inbound management, customer support, and research to strengthen the sales pipeline and help scale the adoption of eDNA technologies. You will work closely with the Business Development and Marketing teams, ensuring that prospective clients are identified, nurtured, qualified and supported through the sales process. This position is ideal for an Environmental Science / Ecology graduate with an interest in eDNA / biodiversity / conservation who has an interest in developing a commercial career.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science / Ecology or relevant industry experience. 

  • Strong research skills and an ability to filter and interpret technical information. 

  • Experience in sales, inside sales, or sales development is an asset but not a deal breaker.  

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams. 

  • Comfortable engaging with customers via phone, email, and online channels. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • High level of organisation, initiative, and attention to detail. 

  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Monday.com or similar) an advantage. 

  • Interest or background in environmental consulting, nature technology, biodiversity monitoring, environmental economic or related fields. 

Additional Information

Key Responsibilities 

Lead Generation + Outbound Development 

  • Use research tools and databases to build prospective client lists aligned to priority sectors  

  • Initiate outreach campaigns and nurture leads 

  • Conduct desk research to identify new project opportunities, tenders, biodiversity programs and stakeholder networks. 

Inbound Management, Quoting & Transactional Sales 

  • Manage and triage inbound enquiries from email, website, events and direct phone calls. 

  • Qualify inquiries and provide fast, accurate quotations across EnviroDNA’s product and service range. Take ownership of transactional sales, including standard assays, metabarcoding projects and kit sales.  

  • Process purchase orders and coordinate with Operations and the Lab to ensure smooth fulfilment and client communication.  

  • Maintain up-to-date product, pricing and technical knowledge to confidently support customers. 

 

Sales Operations + CRM Management 

  • Maintain accurate activity, qualification notes, and opportunity stages in the CRM. 

  • Support data hygiene and reconciliation efforts across marketing and BD systems. 

Market + Sector Research 

  • Conduct research to support market sizing, sector analysis, and go-to-market campaigns  

  • Assist with content development for presentations, proposals, and industry insights. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Participate in sales and product training with the Lab, R&D and Bioinformatics teams. 

  • Support Marketing with event preparation, follow-up and lead nurturing. 

  • Support the development of case studies, materials, and client resources as needed.
