Job Description

We are looking for someone who will provide functional and technical expertise to Central 1’s Treasury Front Office, Internal Risk Management, Treasury Back Office, and Treasury Accounting teams. This role will assist in their ongoing requirements for the Murex (Mx3) application and all its external and internal integration points, including interfaces and reporting. The role will involve close collaboration with the business stakeholders and other technical teams across Central 1 and third-party vendors. 

The Murex Functional Analyst will also work closely with the other functional and platform team members to ensure smooth operation of the Murex platform. This includes the full front-to-back configuration, seamless integration of data from upstream market and trade data sources and feeds to downstream data consumers. This also includes supporting the monitoring of end of the day/week processing and troubleshooting and the resolution of the issue which may occur during these times.

The role requires highly developed analytical, problem solving, planning, organizational, and change management skills. The ability to think strategically and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and work effectively in high-pressure situations is critical in this role.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support multiple business streams in their use of the Murex application and/or its outputs
  • Gather and document requirements using an agile framework
  • Propose viable design options along with pros, cons, and impacts
  • Estimate work effort and organize work into manageable packages to deliver value in smaller increments with less risk
  • Perform detailed configuration and prepare configuration documentation
  • Lead testing in an iterative way working with stakeholders through UAT to implementation
  • Able to work independently following C1 processes and policies for documentation, configuration, release management, and ITIL incident management procedures
  • Work closely with external vendors (Murex, Bloomberg, etc.) to troubleshoot issues and resolve outages
  • Work closely with other internal IT groups: QA, developers, and corporate application support
  • Support the testing of periodic Murex upgrades and patches
  • Develop and alter technology scripts, SQL, and other technical aspects both internal and external to Murex
  • Set up simple to advanced financial instruments in Murex so that their financial behavior and cash flows behave according to market and C1 practice
  • Debug and rectify and/ or provide possible solutions to rectify behavior that is considered strange in various financial instruments or technological aspects within the Murex ecosystem including Treasury Connect (Central 1’ Treasury Web Portal where client treasury transactions are initiated) and other integration points

Qualifications

What you'll have:

3+ years of experience working with the Murex Mx3 application and completion of training in some or all of the following modules:

  • DataMart concepts, and reporting configuration
  • MXML Workflows – contract, exchange, mail, deliverables, etc.
  • Development and debugging of Pre-trade and Post-trade workflow
  • Market Data Integration, market data setup
  • Front Office Configuration - Trading / Pricing, Simulation Views, Risk Analytics, pricing for Futures, Forwards, Swaps and Options, MBS, and other Fixed Income instruments
  • Accounting Rules and workflows
  • Liquidation Module
  • Murex Limits Controller
  • VaR / EMRM
  • Knowledge of treasury; trade and debt instruments; market processes, finance operations; accounting, cash management, settlement, and confirmation processes
  • Good understanding of various stages involved in the trade lifecycle is a mandatory requirement along with prior derivatives and capital markets experience gained by working within risk, trading, or treasury functions of a large bank
  •  Ability to perform cash flow analysis based on the pricing and of various financial products as well should be able to connect them with P&L and Accounting.
  • Strong time management skills: able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing requirements
  • Strong problem identification skills and creativity to develop new and innovative solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and financial / risk expertise to conduct meetings with senior members of Front Office and Trading Desk, Back Office, Finance, and Risk Management
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle with previous experience in iterative or agile development
  • Understanding of systems implementation and upgrade processes, change and test management methodologies
  • MUST be proficient with SQL
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (finance, engineering, computer science) with experience in at least one end-end systems implementation.
  • At least 2-3 years of IT experience involving dev-ops, system implementation, testing is required

  • Sybase / Oracle; UNIX, Shell scripting, Web Services, API.
  • Java Scripting and general coding experience
  • Tableau
