Job Description

We are looking for a network analyst to help us provide services to credit union members across Canada. This position will aid in designing and implementing complex IT systems connecting our data centers to third-party clients or the cloud. You will be working with a great team of network analysts and have a seasoned senior engineer to lean on. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Implementing new IT solutions using public cloud providers 
  • Designing and implementing IT network systems of moderate complexity
  • Planning and testing rollout of new network hardware and system releases 
  • Developing comprehensive operational procedures for ongoing support, change management, incident and problem management. 
  • Script, automate, and test network routine network changes. 
  • Provide support for cloud-based workloads in Azure and AWS
  • Capacity planning, process, and resource analyses of the network 
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for existing and new network systems using detailed diagrams 
  • Providing 7x24 on-call support in a customer-centric environment and resolving the more complex problems and interconnection issues with external service providers or escalating to Senior Network Engineer. 
  • Monitoring health and performance of key network systems daily
  • Monitoring security forums and vendor mailing lists, ensuring all network systems are up to date with patches and not vulnerable to attacks.
  • Performing considerably complex troubleshooting of network systems in collaboration with other teams. 
  • Participating in various projects as a technical resource.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of Central 1’s IT infrastructure and operations 
  • Performing other duties as required to deliver exceptional service and to support Central’s business goals 

Qualifications

What you'll have

  • 4+ years relevant experience in network support, preferably with related network certifications.
  •  A CCNA or CCNP (preferred) certification is an asset 
  • Experience within a large corporate IT environment 
  • Strong understanding of IT operations. 
  • Extensive experience with VPN IPSEC and TCP/IP
  • Experience using command line to configure the network
  • Network automation and scripting experience would be valuable to us.

 Some things we do here: 

  • Core Cisco routing and switching (802.1Q VLAN, QoS, HSRP, OSPF, BGP) configuration and support. 
  • Cisco Unified Computing 
  • Firewall implementation, configuration and support (Cisco ASA and Palo Alto) 
  • Load balancing configuration and support (F5 Big IP) 
  • Network traffic analysis and troubleshooting 
  • Communication infrastructures, VPN (Global Protect), MPLS etc. 
  • Supporting a mixed Linux/Windows virtualized server environment.  
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure 
  • Hands-on experience with network automation 
  • Experience supporting voice-related technologies including voice mail systems, VOIP/IP PBX, SBC, conferencing, and IVR systems is an asset (Cisco Unified Communications or Skype for Business / Microsoft Teams)

  • Software-defined networking 
  • Scripting 
  • Experience designing and implementing data center networks 
  • AWS or Azure certifications
